Somewhere to turn...................

If you're reading this post, chances are good you have been detoured onto the unchosen road of grief just as our family has been.

That's what this blog is all about......

A place for people to turn who need to share their stories, their memories, their pain, their questions, their sadness............

My prayer is that through this blog we can become a family who helps each other by sharing our favorite books, favorite Scriptures, and favorite ways of continuing our loved ones' legacies.

One thing I have learned since losing my daughter Adrienne in 1992 to SIDS and my son Nick to brain cancer in 2008 is that grief is different for every person in every circumstance. There is no way to measure the "depth" of one person's grief compared to another. There is no way to say that there is one "right" way to grieve or "wrong" way to grieve.

However, I do believe that grief is a universal pain that carries many similarities no matter where we're from or what our backgrounds may be. My husband and I recently were in India and met a couple who lost their daughter a year and a half ago. While we had a barrier because of language differences, our tears still flowed in the same way. We both had photos we cherished, drawings we will never let go of, and stories that will forever be in our hearts.

Grief. Noone wants to travel down this unchosen road.

But once you're on it...........as you well know.............the only way to cope is to keep moving forward.

So my prayer is that this blog will be a place of healing on your journey down the road of grief.

A journey that leads you closer to the only source of Hope on your darkest days.

Come, journey with me, please.

Feel free to share your name and your story. And feel free to post encouraging words to anyone else's comments.
